Barely three days after their FA Cup clash, Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa meet again on Tuesday night, but this time in the semifinals of the Carling Cup. Rovers drew 2-2 against Sunderland in their last league game. The Wearsiders took the lead seven minutes into the second half through Darren Bent, but Blackburn equalised almost immediately through Norwegian midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen. Bent restored Sunderland’s lead in the 65th minute, but El Hadji Diouf came off the bench and netted a late equaliser against his former club.
